Stephanie Weaver founded Huntsville Art Supplies out of a personal frustration that many artists can relate to: delays and setbacks caused by unreliable materials. On one occasion, a damaged art panel had to be returned twice to a big-box store, derailing her project timeline and straining her relationship with a client. In another instance, paints she ordered arrived ruptured, forcing her to deal with lengthy returns and reimbursements, further delaying her work. For Weaver, these experiences highlighted a critical need: a local, artist-focused supply store that prioritizes quality and care.

Reflecting on the lack of reliable resources, Weaver asked herself a pivotal question: "Why not me?" Driven by this idea, she began researching the needs of local artists, including those at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment. She met with them one-on-one, asking what materials they use, what they need, and why. Her findings were clear—local big-box stores might cater to beginners, but they don’t offer the specialized, high-quality products that serious artists require.

Huntsville Art Supplies fills this gap. Weaver proudly stocks specialty materials that help fine artists achieve their best work. “Artists can nerd-out here,” she says, excited to provide a space where the community can find products tailored to their creative needs.
Launching this venture has led Weaver to step away from teaching oil painting, a role she loved, to focus on supporting other artists. She now brings in guest instructors to host classes, freeing her to curate the supplies that local creators rely on to elevate their craft. Though her personal art remains a way to recharge, Weaver sees helping others as her new creative outlet.

With Huntsville Art Supplies, Stephanie Weaver isn’t just selling materials—she’s empowering the local art community. By providing quality products and thoughtful support, she’s ensuring that artists in North Alabama can thrive in their commissioned and personal endeavors.
